Lincoln Cathedral

It measures 272 feet or 83 meters tall and has 3 towers that can all be seen from the streets and from a distance. In 1549 the churches spire collapsed and was never rebuilt, it was reputed for being the tallest building in the world for 249 years (between 1300 – 1549).

Lincoln Castle

Lincoln castle was constructed in the late 11th century by William the conqueror; it is a sight that you can’t afford to miss when visiting Lincoln for your next holiday. The castles unusual feature is the fact the it has two mottes, something that in the time that it was constructed was virtually unheard of – it’s so rare there is only one other in the country like it. It survived both the 1141 First battle of Lincoln & the 1216 Second battle of Lincoln. It is a favourite for history buffs and archaeologists across the world.

Whisby National Park

Opened as a nature reserve in 1989 Whisby national park is one of the newest attractions to Lincoln. Although it doesn’t attract a large crowd of tourists it is a spot where the locals try to keep secret. It is visible from both sides of the Nottingham to Lincoln railway line. If you are interested in wildlife the park has dozens of species of birds including tufted duck, pochard, kingfisher & mallard to name a few.
